Rural Medical Imaging is a North Queensland family-owned and operated medical imaging practice.

RMI is now in its 19th year, with staff who have been with us since inception. Our training and support for staff is second to none and we are like one big family. As a sonographer you will play a vital role in patient diagnosis and care. You will perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, interpret findings, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure the best outcomes for patients. This position requires both technical expertise and a caring approach to patient interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across a range of specialties (e.g., obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, vascular, musculoskeletal).

Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal image quality.

Provide clear, accurate documentation and preliminary reports for physician review.

Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, explaining processes and answering questions.

Collaborate with medical staff to support patient care plans.

Maintain compliance with professional standards, clinic policies, and safety regulations.

Qualifications/Skills

Accredited degree/diploma in Medical Sonography or equivalent.

Current registration with ASAR

Demonstrated experience in performing a variety of ultrasound examinations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
